Assalamualaikum to all of you. How are you today? Have you meet your friends today? When talking about friend, I think most of us have their own description, opinion or subjective definition for the meaning of friends, right?? Well, for me the meaning of friend is wide. I think friend is person who could accept me or others without any limits and requirements and I also could accept them. I’m a person who could be with anyone where as long as they could accept me as their friends. However, they are a lot of types of friends. There are friends for play, study, enjoy, share our feeling and also bring us to bad habit.

So, we must know how to choose our friends. It does not mean that I’m a choosy person. I just want to share about the influence of friends to our life. I always hear speech that said “if we chose the right person to be our friends, he or she could lead us to the good things. Meanwhile, if we choose the wrong person we could be influence to the bad things together with them”. This phrase shows the important of friends in our daily life. When we make new friends, of course we could not read their attitude yet. It takes times before we could know our friends better. Then, if we found out the bad things of our friends from others, we should not push them before we investigate those facts true or not. So, it is important to make sure the attitude of our friends first before being to close with them.

For me, there a lot of factors in friends where one of it is we must respect our friends. It means we must accept our friends opinion if they give suggestion or idea especially when work as a team. Then, we also should trust our friends such as when we work in a team we must not be a selfish person. The marks in a team are either collective marks or individual marks, so we must not do the assignment or works by our own. We must think about others, where we should divide the works almost equal to each person means there will be no people that did not do work in the team. The other factors are toleration, helping each other, working or studying together and many more when we make friends with people.

As the conclusion, I just want to say that know your friends, respect them and be good friends to others so we also could have good friends too. Have a nice day, enjoy your friendship with others as it could never be replace with others and appreciate this relationship.

Friend...actually is a very abstract subject. But most of us have our own friend including me. For me, friend is someone who always stands beside me and always give me idea to solve my problem! I hope my friend is someone who always lend me a hand when i am in trouble. When i am in the wrong path, she or he will immediately pull me back to the right path. But she or he will never push me to the hell and let me suffer there. May be you all can say i am very selfish but for me that is what we called friend. There is many types of charasteristics of friend should have so that we won't choose the bad friend as our friend.
For me, the charasteristics of my friend should have are:
-open-minded
-understanding
-helpful
-responsible
-caring
-respectful

friend..what are you think a friend is? Different people have different opinion about this. But for me, a friend is a person who stay beside us no matter what happen. A friend is a person who knows you well, who loves you just the same, who can accept us although we have done mistakes. Also can comfort each other and celebrate victories together.
Some of the characteristics that I'm looking for are:
-understanding
-honest
-open-minded
-good listener
-someone that can help me to a better person

Acquaintances are easy to find... Friends are super duper rare... Big difference. A friend is someone you can 'click' with, And for me less than ideal friend (because an ideal friend only exist theoretically) have the following criteria:

-not clingy

-independent

-helpful

-sharing is caring as they said it

-not hypocrite

-open-minded

-actually remember me

And the list goes on and on... I have few of these people on my list, the ones I'll cherish as long as I can. These are criteria for FRIENDS and not ACQUAINTANCES.

A true friend is someone who wont judge you for what you do (und support you when you need it... Someone you can tell your deepest scar, and someone you know wont turn her/his back on you... Someone you are comfortable with, someone who trust you, someone who, of course, the most important, accept you as you are; the good and the bad.

Friends are someone that you trust, someone that is meaningful in your life, a reflection of yourself for the other people to judge you. Someone who you think as a friend will accept you as what you are even though others might see you in a different way. Friends will never ever turn their back on you, especially when you need them most. For me, friend is like a gift, which gives me a reason to keep on living, as they will always be on my side to support me. Honestly, without friends by my side the life would be meaningless…

what a friend means to me...

True friends are hard to find...I have heard many definitions of a friend..
but for myself..friend is someone that are always stand by myside..
always gives me support and understand what i was going through..
he or she never let me fall..
A true friendship makes my life so much better...
It is a different kind of relationship, and it is not like normal relationship such as,with brothers, sisters, parents, husband, wife, or kids.
True friendships are people who spend time together out of mutual respect and admiration, and not because they feel obligated.

CHARACTERISTICS OF MY FRIEND

A true friend would never leave me alone whether in my good or bad times...
i hate to be alone..

he or she don't have to tell me that they love me but rather show to me with the way they treat me and care for me...
i want a helpful friend..
My true friends share great memories and have great laughs together,

they have to know my likes and dislikes.

They have to keep company when i am in need of it, they share hugs.
They are like angels who save me from a broken heart.

The friends as mirrors concept is really great. If you’re anything like me, you’ll have lots of different friends that reflect different sides of your personalities, or your different moods. I admire my friends for different reasons and have different types of conversations with them when I’m with them.

"What is a friend?"

A unique blend of affection, loyalty, love, respect, trust and loads of fun is perhaps what describes the true meaning of friendship between two individuals. Similar interests, mutual respect and strong attachment with each other are what friends share between each other.

For me, a friend is a person who is very special to me and will always be in my heart no matter how far away we are from each other.Maybe the first time we meet a person, we will feel quite awkward when talking to that person, but when we keep on seeing each other and developing our coversation in unique kind of ways(making lots and lots of jokes, for instance:=)),we will feel that we have a chemistry with that person. From that time onwards, we are creating a special bond with that person; a bond which is so sincere and so divine that it cannot be broken easily until the end of our lives. To me,a friend who is always concern about myself and always care and love me is the truest friend of all.A true friend is willing listen to my problems and will try his/her best to help me. A true friend will always encourage me in whatever I do and whenever I am in a blue mood, sincerely.I really value my friends and I will always love them..FRIENDSHIP FOREVER!!

Friends???

A person whom one knows, likes and trusts.
A person that cares for your well-being, one who cares deeply for you and
Someone who is always there for you in time of need. Won't laugh at you or judge you.

charactristics of my friends...

i do have a lot of best friends actually but they are all different from each other. i don't really think that there is a perfect friend out there but there really is someone that you can really rely on when you're in a difficult time. my friends and i are comfortable with each other and we can tell each other anything (even if at times, it is offensive - but that's because we do care about each other so much and we don't want other people any one of us more). they are supportive, and they value our friendship so much. Trust is still key for any relationship. if i could put them all together and make them one person, i'd say yes, ideal friend it is. but separately? we all have our flaws, but we do love each other...

When you come to think of it..aren't friends actually like autobots??(yup..the autobots in the movie TRANSFORMERS!!!hehehehe =P) Whenever we needed a little push , our friends become the greatest springs ever that could push us to do anything...If we needed someone to fall on , our friends turn into airbags that could break any fall..When we needed guidance , they would be there as amazing counsellors..I could continue to list the things a friend could transform into , but the list would be almost never ending would it?? (SEE!!!a friend can transform into more things than ur average transformers!!hahahahahaha =P ) To simplify things , a friend is someone who will always be there for us in any form we need them to be to help us grow and be someone better in life. Without friends , life would be a difficult thing to go through. So appreciate your friends and never take them for granted =)

P/S : the role of a friend has to work both ways!!so transform for your friends as well!!hehehehe =P

definition of friend.......

actually....
this is really subjective question....
everyone can give their own meaning o friendship.....
and i would like to share mine too....

F.R.I.E.N.D......
a friend is one who always there for me.....
make me happy even if i am sad....
supporting me when i am going to do my presentation....
waiting for me when lunch time....
share my top secret and sensitive feeling....
talking about guys that attract me.....
lend me her shoulders when i am in sorrow.....(^_^)

but i think there's no one like that in this world......
so....keep searching for the truly friend....
to get one, i should be like that first....

There are many definitions to friend;-a tender shoulder to cry on, a hand to pull you up from despair, or even someone who helps raise your spirits...

However you define a friend, you cannot deny that having them is a true blessing...

I got this in an e-mail awhile back, its kind of sweet;- so i figured I'd just post it up...

Read this.......so touching....

One day, when I was a freshman in high school,I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school.

His name was Kyle.It looked like he was carrying all of his books.I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd.'

I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.

As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him.

He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes.My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye.As I handed him his glasses, I said, 'Those guys are jerks.'They really should get lives.'

He looked at me and said, 'Hey thanks!'There was a big smile on his face.It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now.I would have never hung out with a private school kid before.

We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid.I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friendsHe said yes.We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him.

Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again.I stopped him and said, 'Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!' He just laughed and handed me half the books.

Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends..When we were seniors we began to think about college.Kyle decided on Georgetown and I was going to Duke.I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would neverbe a problem. He was going to be a doctor and I was going for business on a football scholarship.

Kyle was valedictorian of our class.I teased him all the time about being a nerd.He had to prepare a speech for graduation.I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speakGraduation day, I saw Kyle.He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him.Boy, sometimes I was jealous!

Today was one of those days.I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, 'Hey, big guy, you'll be great!'He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled.' Thanks,' he said.As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began...

'Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years.Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends...I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them.I am going to tell you a story.'

I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told thestory of the first day we met.He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home.He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile.'Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable.'I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment.I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile.

Not until that moment did I realize it's depth.Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life. For better or for worse.God puts us all in each others lives to impact one another in some way.Look for God in others.

You now have two choices, you can :1) Pass this on to your friends or 2) act like it didn't touch your heart. As you can see, I took choice number 1.'Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.'There is no beginning or end.. Yesterday is history.Tomorrow is a mystery.Today is a gift.

CURIOUSITY KILL THE CAT

this quote i found from one of the novel i had read....
actually,, me myself did not know what is THE REAL MEANING OF THAT PHRASE...
i kept wondering and i was asking a friend of mine while ago and she gave me her 'postulates' about that phrase....

its simply means,,
sense of curious can bring us towards an action which we could not think about it...
something that might be impossible to be done...
but...
we realy do it because of curiousity...

for example...
when we falling in love with a guy/girl and feel curious to know about him/her...

we could do anything to know about him/her better...

even to peep him/her..

hahahaha...
that rudiculous...(^_^)

As students, we sometimes have trouble retaining the information that we have read when we were studying. This can cause you a bad grade. But it happens because students don't receive the right orientation. Students forget that there are some techniques they can use to make for the best studying.

1.Look for an undisturbed place, free of people and transit noise. These things will favor your concentration.
2.Avoid listening to music while you study. Otherwise, your attention may focus on what is more interesting -- in this case, the music.
3.Make a deal with your friends to not call you while you are studying. Turn off your cell phone.
4.Don't study in bed. You may fall asleep, and I bet you can't study while you are sleeping.
5.Start with doing your reading from the beginning to the end. Don't stop to read details.
6.Read it again, but this time separating the most important ideas of each paragraph. Search for the meaning of unknown words.
7.Summarize what you have read, using shorts and objectives phrases.
8.Ask yourself: what does this mean? What does that mean? If you don't know, study it again, and only stop it when you know everything that was initially a mystery to you.
9.Study for an hour and half, with intervals of 10 minutes. Try to relax or eat a snack during these intervals; relaxing helps you to retain the information during your studying.
10.Physical exercise is important. The dose most recommend is 3 hours a week. Physical exercise is a good way to improve your productivity and overall welfare.
11.If you want to sleep, don't study. If you're sleepy, you won't learn half as much as when you're rested.

Online shopping is the process consumers go through to purchase products or services over the Internet. An online shop, eshop, e-store, internet shop, webshop, webstore, online store, or virtual store evokes the physical analogy of buying products or services at a bricks-and-mortar retailer or in a shopping mall.

The metaphor of an online catalog is also used, by analogy with mail order catalogs. All types of stores have retail web sites, including those that do and do not also have physical storefronts and paper catalogs.

Online shopping is a type of electronic commerce used for business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) transactions.

The term "Webshop" also refers to a place of business where web development, web hosting and other types of web related activities take place (Web refers to the World Wide Web and "shop" has a colloquial meaning used to describe the place where one's occupation is carried out).

As a young child, I was never into sports. While studies were being done about the advantages of playing on a team, I just wasn't coordinated enough to play anything. In truth, my interests lay elsewhere, mainly in books and writing. Even today, experts tell parents to get their children involved in physical activities to keep them healthy and lower the rates of childhood obesity.

Unfortunately, I don't believe that every child is geared to a life of sports, and while you should encourage them to get exercise in some form, forcing them to play on a team where they're not comfortable may only add stress to their young lives. If you want to get your child involved in something beneficial, exploring a musical avenue might be a good option.

I started playing the saxophone when I was in fifth grade and have always been grateful to my parents for allowing me to get involved. Though movies have given rise to the term "band geek", youth who become involved in music often find a world that they can both excel in and enjoy. Listed below are five key reasons why getting your child enrolled in a music program is a good idea.

1.Joining a band helps them learn the value of teamwork - One of the main ways to get your child into music is to let them join the school music program. This usually consists of them joining the band. If the school is large, there may a concert, marching, symphony, or pep band to choose from. No matter what style your child prefers, they will have to learn the value of teamwork to put on a good show. Not only will they learn to work with the others in their musical section, but with everyone else in the band as well. Teamwork skills are essential, and a child is more likely to learn and use them when the product is a well done concert or show that puts them in the spotlight.

for me..
friend is a part of my life..
i cant live without my friends besides me...
sometimes..
friends more understanding than our family and siblings..
that is why..
many things we can share with them..
either we feel sad or happy..
but...
remember..!
not all our friends can be there if we want need help..
so..
we must know characteristics to choose the best friend..
do not judge a book by its cover..
we must know he/she first...
then,we can make decision..
either he/she is a good friend or not..
but remember this..

Just an article i found while surfing the net...

HOW TO DEAL WITH DRAMA AMONG FRIENDS!!!

Steps

-If there is someone you use to be friends with or your scared of and don't want to give them attitude, there are few escapes when your face-to-face. If there is a person you fear, don't look like you don't care. You might want to give them a little pleasure of feeling hurt so they don't try harder, but don't cry!
-Dealing with people you hate, the ones who spread rumors, you will usually get a cold adrenaline rush when your around them. Expect rude comments and cruel laughing. Don't come back with anything. Just look at them and give them the dullest look possible and during the part when they expect you to get mad, just give them an unphased look and say slowly (with no emotion) "ok..." and walk away. After a while of this, they'll get bored and not talk to you, which is what you should seek.
-Be prepared to take the very harsh comments and jokes about yourself and rumors. When it comes to rumors, the key is to have a "I don't care" look. Never Ever Ever snap back or let emotions show. Don't let people walk all over you.

Tips

-Don't let your guard down for a minute. Some people are smart and can seek out your weakness. Look them straight in the eye, then walk away.
-Violence is the last thing you want. It can lead to suspension, being expelled, or getting seriously injured.
-You have to remember, that some people are just all talk. They can talk the talk, but can they really walk the walk?
-Most people will back down. (Especially Girls.) Guys are more likely to get into physical fights. Girls are more likely to trash your rep or get into your head and convince you false trash. Keep calm.
-Remember, In a course of a lifetime, what does it matter? (this means, when your older and years have past, when you look back on your problems, what does it matter to you now?)
-Seek advice from older people who have matured through previous drama experiences

Warnings

-Emotions cause your fate.
-Always stand your ground and stand up for your self. Never run away and cry.
-Don't Start Your Problems or you'll be the one to finish them, no matter what the outcome.
-Sometimes apologizing is the best way to solve your problems.

This in article we all definitely need to read...

HOW TO DEAL WITH FRIENDS THAT STAB YOU IN THE BACK!!!
Did you have friends that listened to a lie and then believed it and stabbed you in the back? Here are some things you can do...

Steps
-Block their e-mail address. If you don't the fight will keep going on.
-Separate yourself from them. If you don't, that will lead to more problems.
-Tell yourself that you're better than them. Most of the time you are, if you didn't start the fight.
-Talk to your true friends; if you don't have any, make some. These steps will help you a lot.

Tips
-block them from everything you can
-Ignore them, and move on.
-Try to meditate it helps get rid of anger

Warnings
-if they talk behind your back don't listen to them, because most of the time their talking about themselves just putting your name in it.
-Don't do what they are doing to you right back. Like talking behind their back. It normally gets back to them and that will give them "good reason" to continue talking about you behind your back.

friends...

For me friend is someone who always there for you no matter you are happy or sad. Whenever you are sad, they try to make you happy again and whenever you are happy, they will also happy for you. They always want the best for you and always accept you whoever you are. When you do something wrong, they will guide you to be in the right way and they never want you to be far wrong. Friend also is a best place for me to share all my problem. If I have to choose between a true friend or a lover, I absolutely will choose a true friend because their loyalty is hard to find.

INFORMATION PLEASE!!!!

When I was quite young, my father had one of the first telephones in our neighborhood. I remember well the polished old case fastened to the wall. The shiny receiver hung on the side of the box. I was too little to reach the telephone, but used to listen with fascination when my mother used to talk to it.

Then I discovered that somewhere inside the wonderful device lived an amazing person - her name was Information Please and there was nothing she did not know. Information Please could supply anybody's number and the correct time.

My first personal experience with this genie-in-the-bottle came one day while my mother was visiting a neighbor. Amusing myself at the tool bench in the basement, I whacked my finger with a hammer. The pain was terrible, but there didn't seem to be any reason in crying because there was no one home to give sympathy. I walked around the house sucking my throbbing finger, finally arriving at the stairway - The telephone! Quickly I ran for the footstool in the parlor and dragged it to the landing. Climbing up I unhooked the receiver in the parlor and held it to my ear. Information Please I said into the mouthpiece just above my head.

A click or two and a small clear voice spoke into my ear. "Information."

"I hurt my finger. . ." I wailed into the phone. The tears came readily enough now that I had an audience.

"Isn't your mother home?" came the question.

"Nobody's home but me." I blubbered.

"Are you bleeding?"

"No," I replied. "I hit my finger with the hammer and it hurts."

"Can you open your icebox?" she asked. I said I could. "Then chip off a little piece of ice and hold it to your finger."

After that I called Information Please for everything. I asked her for help with my geography and she told me where Philadelphia was. She helped me with my math, and she told me my pet chipmunk I had caught in the park just the day before would eat fruits and nuts.

And there was the time that Petey, our pet canary died. I called Information Please and told her the sad story. She listened, then said the usual things grown-ups say to soothe a child. But I was unconsoled. Why is it that birds should sing so beautifully and bring joy to all families, only to end up as a heap of feathers, feet up on the bottom of a cage?

She must have sensed my deep concern, for she said quietly, "Paul, always remember that there are other worlds to sing in."

Somehow I felt better.

Another day I was on the telephone. "Information Please."

"Information," said the now familiar voice.

"How do you spell fix?" I asked.

All this took place in a small town in the pacific Northwest. Then when I was 9 years old, we moved across the country to Boston. I missed my friend very much. Information Please belonged in that old wooden box back home, and I somehow never thought of trying the tall, shiny new phone that sat on the hall table.

Yet as I grew into my teens, the memories of those childhood conversations never really left me; often in moments of doubt and perplexity I would recall the serene sense of security I had then. I appreciated now how patient, understanding, and kind she was to have spent her time on a little boy.

A few years later, on my way west to college, my plane put down in Seattle. I had about half an hour or so between plane, and I spent 15 minutes or so on the phone with my sister, who lived there now. Then without thinking what I was doing, I dialed my hometown operator and said, "Information Please".

Miraculously, I heard again the small, clear voice I knew so well, "Information." I hadn't planned this but I heard myself saying, "Could you tell me please how-to spell fix?'

There was a long pause. Then came the soft spoken answer, "I guess that your finger must have healed by now."

I laughed, "So it's really still you, I said. "I wonder if you have any idea how much you meant to me during that time."

"I wonder, she said, if you know how much your calls meant to me. I never had any children, and I used to look forward to your calls."

I told her how often I had thought of her over the years and I asked if I could call her again when I came back to visit my sister.

"Please do, just ask for Sally."

Just three months later I was back in Seattle. . .A different voice answered Information and I asked for Sally.

"Are you a friend?" "Yes, a very old friend." "Then I'm sorry to have to tell you. Sally has been working part-time the last few years because she was sick. She died five weeks ago." But before I could hang up she said, "Wait a minute. Did you say your name was Paul?"

"Yes."

"Well, Sally left a message for you. She wrote it down, Here it is I'll read it 'Tell him I still say there are other worlds to sing in. He'll know what I mean'."

I thanked her and hung up. I did know what Sally meant.
----------------------------------------

when i first read this story, the first thing that struck me was the sincerity of paul and sally's friendship...eventhough they were never face-to-face,their conversations were meaningful enough for both of them to remember years later...

now how many of us have actually experience this type of friendship?
a friendship that bridges the gap of generations, locations, and above all is seemingly timeless...to be honest i dont even remember most of my chidhood friends, let alone what secrets and stories we shared with each other...can you?...we all have tons of friends...its dropping the superficial ones that reduces those numbers...so good luck in finding ur true friends!!!! \(^v^)/

In my opinion, friend is someone that we feel comfortable and have a special link with them. I was looking them as I looking my self. Yes! Just like a mirror, treat them as I treat my self. Maybe I am trying to be fair. ^_^
To be a good friend we should have these criteria:
Honest, helpful, supportive, open minded, cheerful and so on.
Last but not lease from me:
To create a friendship is easy, but to make it special and interesting is difficult. Therefore, we must appreciate the friendship because it is a coincidence that we will never forget.

Friends are the important person in my life..
friends are everything for me
I can laugh, playing, sharing, dreaming and crying with them..

my own definition of a friend is someone that I can completely trust..
and always with me if I am sad or happy..
a friend should understand each other very well.
friend is someone that I can rely on and gives me support whenever I have problems.

a friend also is someone that can create a smile in our relation..
he/her can take care and share problems or story with me..

for me.....
it is important to choose the right friend
because..........
a true friend is someone that will always be with me
through
good times and bad..
tears..
and laughter.

DeliRiuM

Ascertain things are left
Vagueness cause it ain't over till it's over
For reasons I have not discovered
I feel full of beans
Waylay outside unseen trouble
Where means are often
Passing phases
Even-handed young and happy
Wipe out all my sins
You know I cared
You know I've cared I'd care
I'll care
You know I'd care....
Forever
Send up all the one's before
You someday I will soon recover
Breed a star of broken idols
Imagine what it'll be
Slip inside a sheltered corner
Well think I'm fine and never healthy
Criticize my table-manner
I feel full of beans
Chain all my ankles to the sky
Sure I'll soon know before I leave
I promise you I'll give it up
Somehow
I'm going down...down..down..
How???
